School of Mortgage Banking
The School of Mortgage Banking (SOMB, or the School) consists of three five-day in-residence courses: Course I, Course II, and Course III. All three courses provide comprehensive, quality instruction in specific areas of the mortgage banking industry.
Each course builds upon the prior one so that students have an opportunity to learn about all facets of residential mortgage lending, from fundamental concepts to strategic planning. Additionally, an overview of commercial real estate finance is included to provide students with a more complete understanding of mortgage lending. After completion of all three courses, students have a comprehensive knowledge of the entire operation of a mortgage banking firm.
School of Mortgage Servicing
This new interactive course reviews mortgage servicing functions and the potential risks of not applying appropriate processes. It also covers all aspects of residential servicing, including loan and default administration, as well as financial controls and investor administration.
Leave the course with the ability to identify and implement strategies to deploy effective servicing processes. In addition, understand the impact of quality control and regulatory compliance on servicing. Apply what you've learned to assess risks to the organization and identify methods of mitigation.
State and Local Regulatory Compliance Institute
This intense two-day course focuses on trends in state laws. Learn how to work in multiple states, each with its own licensing and continuing education requirements. Explore the particulars on litigation in state court.
Underwriting University
This hands-on training program provides a deeper understanding of mortgage underwriting guidelines and the risk analysis process.
