Sam Morelli is a business executive with more than 30 years of diversified banking and mortgage banking experience. He has particular expertise in commercial and residential finance. Mr. Morelli holds the distinguished Certified Mortgage Banker (CMB) designation.

As President and Chief Operating Officer of Sunset Mortgage Company, L.P., a nationwide mortgage banking firm, Sam is responsible for all aspects of Sunset's national lending operations as well as that of its Parent, The Sunset Companies, which owns and operates a number of mortgage banking entities headquartered throughout the United States.

Sam is an active member with many years service to the Mortgage Bankers Association beginning at the local level and advancing to the national level. He has held various leadership positions including a number of committee chairs with both the MBA of Greater Philadelphia (GP) and the MBA of Pennsylvania (PA). Mr. Morelli is a Past President of the MBA of GP and Past Chairman of the MBA of PA. He has been extremely active with the State and Local Council of the National MBA and is an active member of the Executive Committee of the Regional Conference of MBA's.

Further, Sam is currently a 2-term member of the National MBA's Residential Board of Governors (RESBOG) and sits on the National MBA's Board of Directors. Sam has served on various MBA Task Forces dealing with a multitude of the Real Estate Finance Industry issues including Affordable Housing, MI Adverse Action, GSE Regulation, and State Licensing. He is Vice Chair of the Mortgage Action Alliance Steering Committee, which is the premier nationwide, grassroots lobbying organization of the real estate finance industry dedicated to strengthening the industry's voice and lobbying power in Washington, DC and state capitals and he is an instructor for CampusMBA's School of Mortgage Banking.
