Stephen G. Harshfield Vice President, Agency Division Equity One, Inc. Stephen G. Harshfield, graduated from University of Maryland 1976 with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and has his American Institute of Real Estate Appraisers Certification. From 1993- 2000 he was the Senior Vice President of K. Hovnanian Mortgage, Inc. in Redbank, NJ where he managed and directed multi-state mortgage origination platform, including Quality Control, Audit and Information Systems, for mortgage subsidiary of a national homebuilder. From 2001-2003 he was Director of Operations for Princeton Mortgage Corporation in Pennington, NJ where he managed and directed Operations Division including Processing, Closing, and Underwriting for a mortgage subsidiary of a regional Real Estate firm. At Equity One he manages the Production and Operations Division originating FHA/VA/FNMA/FHLMC loans for a national lender licensed in 43 states.
Mr. Harshfield's industry credits include the following:
- Developed and obtained HUD's written approval of method for originating FHA-insured mortgages through non-approved broker lenders.
- Developed, submitted and obtained HUD approval for pilot Streamlined Refinance Program which has become an industry standard.
- Jointly participated in creating the Temporary Buy-down Program and obtained initial FNMA approval for program.
- Created Valuation Model for the purchase of Servicing Rights as one of first models in industry.
- Participated in the early emergence of the GNMA-MBS program by packaging, selling and delivering 7th GNMA-MBS issue in the country
