1. Enroll in the CMT Specialist Designation program. You can enroll online, or via mail, or fax.
Note: Candidates must currently be in a technology leadership position within the residential or commercial real estate finance industry. In addition, all candidates must have a minimum two years industry experience and have a technology background.

The cost of courses is not included in the enrollment fee. Certificate and designation enrollments fees are non-refundable and non-transferable.
2. Acquire 75 points CMT points. You need to acquire 75 CMT points from the following three categories before you can take the written thesis:
- Professional Experience (Minimum: 10 points)
- Documented Education (Minimum: 30 points)
- Industry Participation (Minimum: 15 points)

3. Pass the testing phase. When you have acquired the minimum number of points required to test (including the School of Mortgage Banking Course I) and you have submitted your designation point audit form and application, you will receive the following materials:
- Thesis submission instructions
- Oral presentation and conference call instructions
- Test registration form
You must enroll in the CMT Thesis & Oral Exam in order to complete this step. There is an additional fee for this exam:

4. Be recognized. All students meeting the designation requirements will be awarded their graduation plaques and pins in a ceremony at MBA's annual National Technology in Mortgage Banking Conference or MBA's Annual Convention. All new CMT designees will be featured in future issues of The Industry Campus newsletter and CampusMBA's website.
5. Complete continuing education. To maintain a designation, designees must complete five points of continuing education every two years. Continuing education points can be acquired by successfully completing one of the applicable CMT courses or attending MBA conferences and/or conventions. Prior to the end of the two-year period, designees must complete the CMT Continuing Education Reporting Form and submit a $100 re-accreditation fee.
