CMT Exams
After meeting the minimum designation requirements, candidates advance to the written and oral testing phase.

Written Exam: Candidates must submit a thesis on a specific initiative, implementation, or conversion in which they actively participated (5,000 word minimum). View the thesis requirements/instructions.

Oral Exam: The oral exam is 20 minutes in length and is conducted by members of MBA's Residential Technology (ResTech) committee and current CMT Designees. The candidate will know who will be participating on the examination team prior to the exam.

The oral exam is divided into three sections:

  • Part I: 5 minutes - The candidate speaks about his or her technical background and presents a summary of the thesis project.
  • Part II: 10 minutes - The examination team leads a question and answer session regarding the thesis project.
  • Part III: 5 minutes - Current industry topic discussion. A question relating to current technology trends and issues is posed by the exam team. The candidate must respond.

The next CMT oral exam is scheduled in November 2007.

Graduation: The CMT graduation will occur at MBA's Annual Convention & Expo on Sunday, October 14, 2007.
