Residential Underwriter Professional Certificate
The Residential Underwriter Professional Certificate is designed for residential underwriters seeking recognition for continued excellence in education and professionalism.

The Residential Underwriter Professional Certificate is the second level (Level II) in the Certified Residential Underwriter (CRU) learning path.

CampusMBA is offering the CRU designation through a partnership with Genworth Financial.

Genworth's underwriting courses and content have been implemented into the program curriculum to enhance CampusMBA's current offerings to the real estate finance industry.


Candidate Profile

  • Individuals with three to four years experience in underwriting residential mortgage loans. A minimum of one year underwriting experience is required.
  • Individuals who have completed the Residential Underwriter Achievement Certificate (CRU Level I).

Professional Certificate Requirements

Experience Level: A minimum of three to four years industry experience is recommended. A minimum of one year in underwriting is required.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of the Residential Underwriter Achievement Certificate (CRU Level I).
Exemptions: An underwriter with more than four years of underwriting experience can test out of Level II curriculum (fees apply). Contact CampusMBA at (800) 348-8653 to learn more about exemption or complete and submit the exemption form.
Education Requirement: Yes, must complete five distance learning courses (25 points).
Participation Requirement: No
Written Exam: Yes, at the completion of each course. In addition, you must take and pass the CRU Level II comprehensive exam.
Oral Exam: No
Continuing Education: No
