The Certified Mortgage Technologist (CMT) Specialist Designation, designed specifically for information technology professionals, managers and executives (CIOs and CTOs), helps you get recognized for your professional accomplishments.

Before taking the CMT evaluation, all CMT candidates must accrue 75 points from three categories:

Professional Work Experience (minimum: 10 points)
Industry Participation (minimum: 15 points)
Documented Education (minimum: 30 points)

Earning Your CMT

If you have been in the mortgage banking industry and involved in mortgage technology for two years or more, you may already have accumulated many of the 75 points required. Use the online CMT Point Calculator to estimate your current point balance.

The CMT Evaluation

The CMT evaluation is conducted in two phases: written thesis submission and oral thesis presentation. Learn more on our CMT Exam page.

Certified Mortgage Banker

Many specialist designees go on to earn the Certified Mortgage Banker Professional and/or Master Designation. The CMB designation is the industry criterion of professional success. Choose to earn a Commercial or Residential CMB. Complete both programs to ear your Master CMB. Achievement of these designations represents the epitome of dedication and expertise in the real estate finance industry.
