Judy Wheatley, CMB, AR

Judy Wheatley, CMB, ARU, has more than 20 years of leadership experience in the real estate finance industry. Her areas of expertise include operations management; product development; process engineering; training and development; mergers and acquisitions; credit risk analysis; affordable housing; cost vs. benefit analysis; project management; and due diligence reviews.

Currently, Wheatley serves as senior consultant for Mortgage Dynamics, Inc., in McLean, Virginia. She provides diverse and comprehensive consulting and outsourcing services for clients in order to achieve their short-term and long-term objectives. Prior to joining Mortgage Dynamics in 1999, she was vice president and national underwriting manager for Astoria Federal Savings and Loan Association. During her eleven-year tenure at Astoria, she also served as vice president and regional operations manager, and vice president and underwriting manager.

Wheatley also spent six years at Paine Webber Mortgage Finance, serving as assistant vice president and chief underwriter, underwriter, branch operations manager, and mortgage loan processor.

Wheatley has a Master of Liberal Arts for John Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Arts from Bethany College. She continued her education with real estate, management, and appraisal courses and seminars.

While with Astoria Federal in 1993, Wheatley received an Outstanding Community Investment award for a lease-purchase program partnership with Manna, Inc., First Advantage Mortgage, and Fannie Mae. The same year, she received the Accredited Residential Underwriter (ARU) designation. She is an FHA Direct Endorsement Underwriter and a VA Automated Underwriter.

Wheatley served as a member of the Board and education chairperson for the Maryland Mortgage Bankers Association Board from 1997-1999. She served as single family chairperson for the Mortgage Bankers Association of Metropolitan Washington in 2000. She is a speaker and trainer for various industry events, including MBA's School of Mortgage Banking.
