Finding a Lender First
Choosing a home and then finding out whether you can afford it
doesn't make a lot of sense. That's why visiting a lender before
you look for a home gives you and your real estate agent a number
of important advantages:
- It makes finding your home easier — with more certainty
and less anxiety — because you won't be going through the
whole process worrying about qualifying for a mortgage.
- You'll be demonstrating your seriousness as a buyer and negotiating
with the seller from a position of much greater confidence.
Working with Government and Non-Profit Organizations
Take advantage of the many federal, state and community
programs available to help you with the home buying process. Many
of these organizations offer education and resources through their
Web sites.
